The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) is the national authority in charge of supporting and promoting research, technological development and innovation in Cyprus. One of its main areas of activity revolves around the design, launch, funding and monitoring of national RTDI funding programmes, as well as participation in public-to-public partnerships, and launch of a number of awards/competitions to nurture an R&I culture in Cyprus. Μέσω της Πρόσκλησης «Ορίζοντας Ευρώπη – 2η Ευκαιρία ERC» παρέχεται μια δεύτερη ευκαιρία σε ερευνητές που επιδίωξαν να λάβουν χρηματοδότηση στο πλαίσιο των Χρηματοδοτικών Εργαλείων «ERC Starting Grant», «ERC Consolidator Grant» και «ERC Advanced Grant» του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου Έρευνας (European Research Council - ERC) και οι προτάσεις τους κρίθηκαν ως επιλέξιμες για χρηματοδότηση, αλλά δεν χρηματοδοτήθηκαν λόγω εξαντλήσεως του προϋπολογισμού.
